“Let us lay in the sun and count every beautiful thing we can see.”
I’ve always been connected to beauty in nature. I ran barefoot through open fields behind my home, collecting sunshine on my cheeks and felt belonging amongst the wildflowers.
The pace of the world feels loud, as I paint I intuitively carve out white space in my pieces to leave room to appreciate stillness. I’m Lisa Locklin and I create watercolor for your home. An invitation to stillness in the every day.
“There are always flowers for those who want to see them.”
-Henri Mattisse
It’s been essential to me as a mom, to learn how to be still, to move closer, to show my children how to see the world. When we slow down to observe the simple ordinary things of creation, we realize there is truly a place of awe in dancing shadows, birds in flight, and trees sprouting new life.
To me loving them is both practical and creative in act. It is showing them wonder in golden hour through the trees and the shifting colors of the sun setting, while cooking dinner. It's bringing their hearts to know the heart of The Creator.
